Chris Stapleton will open for hard rock band Guns N' Roses for their upcoming Nashville show. The country music singer will join the Billy Talent Band, the Cult and Skrillex for the July 9 show at Nissan Stadium.

The “Parachute” singer will perform several of his own shows this summer, as well as join a few other artists, including Luke Bryan and Alabama Shakes. Stapleton will also co-headline a tour with Hank Williams Jr., which kicks off in August. But while Guns N' Roses might be the only chance Stapleton has to sing with rock acts over the next few months, he insists he enjoys all styles of music.

"[Any artist] deserves the respect, and I think that of everybody that is out playing music," Stapleton has said. "If you don’t like a certain kind of music, that’s fine. It’s just not for you. If you like another kind of music, that’s great. Then listen to that. Nobody gets anywhere by hating on somebody else’s music. What’s the point? It doesn’t make any sense to me."

Stapleton has had a whirlwind year. After taking home three CMA Awards last November,  the singer-songwriter won six ACM Awards and two Grammys, including one for Best Country Album and Best Country Solo Performance. But after years of writing songs and performing without any industry recognition, Stapleton says he still isn't concerned with public accolades.

“I don’t make records to win awards,” Stapleton says. “I make records to make records, and hopefully make the records as good as they can be. That’s what these awards hopefully represent."

Tickets for the Guns N' Roses show are available at Ticketmaster. A list of all of Stapleton's upcoming shows is available on his website.
