After your independent album debuts at No. 2, and you sell out RODEOHOUSTON people gotta stand up and take notice. Y'all, we knew this day was coming for years. Last night, Cody Johnson announced a new partnership with Warner Music Nashville

We couldn't be happier for the Texas native. He's worked hard and through it all has been able to stay true to himself.

Over the past ten years Johnson has built one of the most ravenous, grass roots, fan bases in music. He's come a long way from selling albums out of his trunk, to being one of Texas' hottest acts. With six independent albums and nearly 300 million streams, Johnson has proved himself one of country music’s most talented and popular voices.

This year it culminated for Johnson as he became the first independent artist to sell out the Houston Rodeo at NRG stadium -- nearly 75,000 tickets.

In 2017 he sold over 350,000 hard tickets across the US. His nationwide tour launched in April and will continue through the rest of the summer. His most recent album Gotta Be Me hit No. 2 on the Top Country Albums chart and No. 11 on the Billboard 200.

Congrats to Johnson and his entire team from all of us here at Radio Texas, LIVE!
