Colter Wall Drops ‘Cowpoke,’ From ‘Western Swing & Waltzes and Other Punchy Songs’

His voice is distinct and unparalleled. Colter Wall hails from the prairies of Saskatchewan, Canada, and you may've heard his songs in the movies. He's contributed songs to Hell or High Water, Peanut Butter Falcon, and Deadwood. He's also been featured on the TV series Yellowstone, and HBO’s Run.

Canada's gravely voiced country crooner is set to unleash a new 10-track album on us this summer. Western Swing & Waltzes and Other Punchy Songs will be out on August 28th. We get a clearer glimpse of the album today as he released the second song off of the project, an updated take of the Stan Jones Classic, “Cowpoke.”

Wall, who came to Texas and Yellow Dog Studios outside of Austin to record the new collections of songs , recorded several originals tunes for it, but will also offer up a couple covers including his take on Marty Robbins’ “Big Iron.”
