If you were a big fan of the TV show 'Home Improvement', get ready for Tim Allen & Richard Karn as they star in a new competition television show called 'Assembly Required'.

Entertainment tonight says that History has already given them a green light for 10 episodes for starters. The premise for this show is a perfect fit for these guys. Assembly Required is all about people from around the country who take on the challenge of fixing everyday household items on the show, and the goal is to not only fix but to try and make it even better than it originally was.

In a Statement, Tim Allen says “Let’s face it -- we’re living in a throwaway society. We buy, break, replace… rinse and repeat. Whatever happened to repair and rebuild? There are some people who unfriend, unfollow and dispose of anything that offends, annoys or breaks, so I’ve created a show to remind people of the satisfaction and pride that comes from rebuilding something on their own."

The way the show is set up is that Tim Allen will star in the show, and Richard Karn is billed as its host with both serving as executive producers.

Although an air date is yet to be determined, History is due to debut the show starting in 2021.

Many of us have great memories of the show 'Home Improvement' as Allen starred as Tim Taylor and Karn played Al Borland  on the long-running hit series which aired from September of 1991 through May 1999 on ABC.
