Hard as it was to get a handle on the first season of Hulu’s Aaron Paul-Hugh Dancy-Michelle Monaghan religious drama The Path, our first look at Season 2 is going significantly darker. See for yourself in the first trailer in photos, complete with cult support groups, faceless straphangers and sexy meditation!
In addition to a first trailer above, Hulu also unveiled new photos from the two-hour January 25 premiere, as well as a synopsis outlined below:
In its second season, The Path follows the Meyerist Movement as it tries to make sense of Doctor Meyer’s mysterious departure. Tormented by strange visions, Eddie struggles with a new life in the secular world while Sarah, despite her skepticism of Cal, now stands beside him as Co-Guardian of The Light. When Sarah finally learns of Cal’s dark past, she buries the truth for the betterment of The Movement. Cal and Sarah, now closer than ever, strive to atone for their misdeeds while Eddie, confronted with the meaning of his visions, discovers the truth of Doctor Meyer’s departure.
The series also features Kyle Allen as Monaghan and Paul’s son Hawk Lane, along with Amy Forsyth as his classmate Ashley Fields, Shameless alum Emma Greenwell as rescued addict Mary, and Sons of Anarchy star Rockmund Dunbar as Detective Abe Gaines.
The Path was created by writer-executive producer Jessica Goldberg, with Parenthood alum Katims and Michelle Lee also producing. All Season 1 episodes are available on Hulu, with Season 2 bowing January 25.
