Fugitive Wanted for Double Homicide in East Texas
When Sergeant Marc Couch reached out to me about this fugitive, I knew Texas DPS was serious about tracking him down. Early this morning I received an email from Sergeant Couch - safety education and media communications director for the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) - asking to spread the word about the most recent addition to Texas' Most Wanted Fugitives list.
Texas DPS has added Alvin Charles McKnight, Jr., to their Most Wanted Fugitive List, and is now offering a reward of up to $7,500 dollars for any information leading to his arrest. Upshur County Crime Stoppers is offering up to $10,000 dollars in reward for any anonymous tips that lead to McKnight's arrest. An anonymous tipster can collect a total of $17,500 dollars.
Here is what you need to know: McKnight is 6'5" tall and weighs approximately 280 pounds. He has tattoos on both arms, his chest and back, and a small one on his face which can be seen in the photos below.
On November 4, 2023, Upshur County deputies, Gilmer police, and DPS troopers responded to a report of a shooting at a home in Gilmer, Texas. When deputies and police arrived, they discovered two individuals dead from what appeared to be gunshot wounds.

After investigating the crime scene, Upshur County deputies were able to issue an arrest warrant for McKnight. McKnight has ties to Upshur County as well as Dallas and Oklahoma City.
If you see McKnight, do not approach him. Consider all fugitives armed and dangerous. Instead call Crime Stoppers at (800) 525-TIPS (8477) and remain totally anonymous. You can also submit a tip through the DPS website, or via Facebook by clicking the "Submit A Tip" link.
