Texas Veterans: Free Workshop Reveals Business Funding and Grants
After all the years I’ve spent working with West Texas veterans, I’ve learned one thing: when a veteran sees a mission, they commit. And if that mission is building a business, they’re unstoppable, they just need the right resources.

That’s why this upcoming event from the Texas Tech Small Business Development Center (SBDC) in Abilene grabbed my Fearless attention.
A Free Hands-On Workshop for Veteran Entrepreneurs
- Date: Wednesday, November 5, 2025
- Time: 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM
- Location: 749 Gateway St., Ste. 301, Building C, Abilene, Texas
As part of National Veterans Small Business Week, the Abilene SBDC is hosting an in-person workshop titled:
“Funding & Resources for Veteran Entrepreneurs”
If you’re a veteran dreaming about launching a business, or you already run one and want to grow, this workshop breaks down real-world funding opportunities and connects you with experts who can guide you step-by-step.
What Veterans Will Learn
This isn’t a lecture. It’s an interactive working session that gives veterans a tactical plan:
- Funding options explained clearly - SBA-backed loans, local bank programs, microloans, and even veteran-exclusive grants and business competitions.
- Business readiness checklist - What lenders expect to see before they’ll consider funding your project.
- Veteran Resource Guide - Take home a curated list of national, state, and local programs designed specifically for veteran entrepreneurs.
- Direct connection to advisors - meet SBDC consultants, ask your questions, and schedule follow-up assistance.
How to Register
