Bad News, Texas: These Cities Ranked Worst for a Robot Takeover

Well, here’s an interesting study and one that I don’t take lightly. I talk about “the rise of the machines” quite a bit on the air, but this is the first time I’ve written about it. I mean, it’s impossible for someone like me to ignore the fact that three Texas cities were ranked among the least likely to survive a robot takeover. 

The folks behind the study conducted by Day of AI admitted that it was meant to be tongue-in-cheek. However, I’m only half-joking when I talk about robots taking over the world. Maybe I’ve seen The Terminator a few too many times, or maybe I’m just old-fashioned, but robots kind of creep me out.

Is a Robot Takeover Really Possible? 

Do I think a robot takeover is likely? No. But I do remember Elon Musk calling for strict regulation of artificial intelligence as it could be a threat to humanity, which tells me it’s not outside the realm of possibility. So, maybe we should get on that sooner rather than later. 

Anyway, if the unthinkable does happen and robots revolt against humans, I regret to inform the citizens of Houston, Austin, and McAllen that you might be toast. All three Texas cities were ranked among the 10 that are least likely to survive a robot takeover.
