30-Year Sentence: Lubbock Man Charged with Bestiality and Child P*rn Possession
A man in Lubbock was recently sentenced to 30 years in prison after pleading guilty to Possession with Intent to Promote Child Pornography, among other charges.
Eric Saldivar's Guilty Plea
33-year-old Eric Saldivar was first arrested in January 2023, with his initial charges being one count of bestiality and 10 counts of possessing material depicting child sex abuse, according to Everything Lubbock.
Then in September of '24, the number increased to 25 counts of possession of child porn with intent to promote.
Because of a plea agreement that Saldivar entered, many of these charges, along with a bestiality charge, were dismissed.
Saldivar's Arrest
Saldivar was originally busted in 2023 because of an online tip stating that content promoting sexual abuse towards children was being uploaded through his accounts.
Authorities were then dispatched and conducted a search on his cell phone where they discovered about 40 separate folders of material depicting child abuse.
While being interviewed by detectives, Saldivar also reportedly admitted to engaging in bestiality. Investigators found 166 files showing bestiality on his phone, with many of them showing him performing intimate actions with his pet dog.
Even with many of the charges dropped, including bestiality, Saldivar was still sentenced to 20 years in prison for Possession with Intent to Promote Child Pornography. He also received 10 years for Possession of Child Pornography, totaling 30 years served consecutively.
