CostofLiving.com has released their list of the 10 most affordable cities to live in Texas and guess who came in at #6 ... Midland with the average cost of living for rent at $1,685. As a resident of I have mixed feelings about this. It seems to be more expensive but then again, it's expensive everywhere.

Midland does, however, offer many things, such as beautiful museums, like both the Museum of the Southwest and Petroleum Museum, music venues, my personal favorite Wagner Noel and of course the rich history of the oil industry.  Our climate is unique blend of sun and wind and beautiful sunrises.  We are also the home of the 1939 historic home of former U.S. Presidents George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush. Plus, lots of fun-filled attractions to enjoy like the new downtown Centennial Park and Bush Convention Center and all the Downtown shopping and eating businesses.  But what really makes the city even more beckoning is its low crime rate compared to the national average, making it a safe, place for people seeking a peaceful community.

Not to mention all the smiling faces.  Lots of great folks live and work here. It's a great place to raise kids especially with the new schools which will be built soon. So, if you are looking for a place to live.  Look no further than Midland Texas!
