Get ready, Odessa!

The SandHills Stock Show & Rodeo is returning to the Ector County Coliseum in Odessa, Texas, January 8–17, 2026, for a full ten days of professional rodeo competition, livestock exhibitions, and family entertainment.

This year’s edition marks an impressive 93 years of livestock shows and 78 years of rodeo action, continuing a legacy that began in the early 1930s and firmly established Odessa as a cornerstone of Texas rodeo culture.

What is the SandHills Stockshow & Rodeo?

Recognized as the official kickoff to the Texas stock show circuit and the pro-rodeo winter swing, SandHills delivers non-stop action for fans of all ages.

The rodeo will feature elite PRCA competition, where top-ranked cowboys and cowgirls go head-to-head in classic events such as bull riding, barrel racing, saddle bronc riding, and calf roping.

This has all the makings of a classic and traditional rodeo.

This year also introduces a new specialty act: John Payne, “The One Arm Bandit,” a 15-time PRCA Rodeo Act of the Year winner, which adds a unique spectacle to the lineup.

Beyond the arena, the livestock show continues to promote youth involvement and agricultural excellence.

Exhibitors from across Texas will showcase Hereford steers and heifers, fine wool lambs, goats, and more, with participants aged 8 to 19 representing the future of Texas agriculture.

Unique elements like the Hereford-only junior steer show and Fine Wool Lamb competition are sure to entertain Odessa, much like it does every year.
