
New Texas Tech Logo – Love It Or Hate It?
For some reason, the powers that be at Texas Tech decided to give their logo a makeover and not everybody is happy about it.
Texas Tech University, just 343 miles up the road from El Paso, is home to the Red Raiders who ... along with their field markings, apparel and accessories ... now have a brand new logo.
As is usually the case when anything or anyone rebrands; 'ya got lovers and 'ya got haters.
It's not the first time TTU and the Red Raiders have changed the logo and it probably won't be the last but it's just as good a subject to argue about online as any other.

The decision came after a marketing agency got together with several "focus groups" and comes on the heels of a new 10 year deal with Adidas that also includes a new uniform look.
"As we celebrate Homecoming this weekend and welcome back thousands of alumni to campus, this is the perfect opportunity to unveil our new branding that will resonate with our history and define Texas Tech Athletics for future generations of Red Raiders." - chron
Some of those "future generations" ain't having it though ...
The first TT logo popped up in 1926 and became "official" in 1963. In 2000, the "beveled T" was adopted. The new logo is both an update and an homage to the original.
"The Double T represents one of the most recognizable logos in all of collegiate athletics and a point of pride for all Red Raiders," Director of Athletics Kirby Hocutt said in a statement on Tuesday. - chron
