El Paso, the struggle is REAL especially at the gas pumps! If you filled up your tank recently and did a double take at the pump… you’re not alone.

Gas prices are climbing across the United States, and unfortunately, El Paso drivers are feeling the squeeze right along with everyone else. I had to fill up my tank this past week and it cost me $20 more than regular!! *Cries in Spanish* 

The national average for regular gas is now hovering around $3.60 per gallon, after jumping dramatically in recent weeks due to rising oil prices and global supply concerns.

Gas Prices Are Rising and El Paso Drivers Are Feeling It

Locally, things aren’t much better. According to AAA data, El Paso drivers are paying around $3.30–$3.36 per gallon on average, making it one of the more expensive metro areas in Texas right now. *Cries in Spanish again*

When I first wrote this article on March 13th, the cheapest gas price was at $3.59. One week later and gas prices have jumped .30! *Cries in Broke*

Based on the GasBuddy map for the El Paso area, here are some of the lower prices drivers may find around town:

Cheapest gas prices based on each side of town:

• $3.59 – Sam's Club in El Paso (11360 Pellicano Dr.)
• $3.68 - Sam's Club in El Paso (7001 Gateway Blvd W)
• $3.69 –  Costco (6101 Gateway Blvd W)
• $3.77– Murphy’s 11701 Pebble Hills Blvd.
• $3.79 – Alon 11995 Gateway Blvd W.

Prices vary depending on the neighborhood and the station, but the difference of even 20–30 cents per gallon can save drivers several dollars each time they fill up.
