Aaron Watson's next album Red Bandana won't be out until late June, but as his current hit "Kiss That Girl Goodbye" makes it's way toward No. 1 in Texas The Honky Tonk Kid has released a new song to whet our appetites for the new project.

Watson tells Parade that the song "Riding with Red" is a tribute to his friend, hero, and cowboy poet Red Steagall.

My boys Jake and Jack love Red. They just gravitate toward him; he's a legend," Watson explains. "And in the song, you think that Red's passed away. But I wanted to write from that perspective so that people who have cowboys like that in their life will, after hearing that song, go hug them and know, 'I don't need to take that person for granted.

Soon after the new album is released Watson will hit the road in support of it, for his Red Bandana Tour, which kicks off June 28th in Abilene.
