City Fire Marshal's office has made an arrest and charged a man with first degree criminal mischief in connection with the fire last week at a down town building.

City Marshals investigation put the fire originating in the southwest corner of the Lone Star Moving warehouse , eye witnesses told Fire Marshal Ross Coleman they saw a vagrant smoking a cigarette near that location at about that time.

The investigation led by Marshal Karla Steppe found the man reportedly bragged at a near by shelter which proved he acted with reckless intent. The suspect faces felony charges and could face five to 99 years in jail and fines up to $10000.

The fire destroyed the 28,000 square foot warehouse and its contents which included two baby grand piano's. The fire department reports that they used over 1 million gallons to fight the blaze and prevented it from spreading from adjacent properties.
