Maren Morris May Follow Chris Stapleton’s Success Path

When the 2016 CMA Awards nominees were revealed yesterday, Aug. 31st, it was a newcomer leading in nomitations.

Texas singer-songwriter Maren Morris has a total of seven nominations: two for Album of the Year, one for Female Vocalist of the Year, one for Song of the Year, one for New Artist of the Year and two for Single of the Year. She’s up against big names in those categories, but if you will remember, so was newcomer Chris Stapleton last year!

This year, Chris trails just behind Morris with six nominations. This year’s show could move Morris from country newcomer to country star, just as it did for Stapleton last year.

Morris has been getting a lot of exposure this past year & playing a lot of major shows these days. She also has a lot of great things lined up like performing on CMT's Crossroads in December with Alicia Keys.

The 2016 CMA Awards will air live from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on ABC - Nov. 2 at 7PM Central.
