Radney Foster, Kyle Hutton Team Up to Help Foster Children in Texas Find Homes
Radney Foster and Kyle Hutton are two men on a mission with their upcoming, The Foster EP. The Texas natives hope to help spread awareness, raise funds, and find families for Texas children living in foster care.
As a former foster child, he was adopted as an infant, Hutton recently became a foster parent himself. Foster, meanwhile, grew up with two adopted siblings.
Did you know that more than 30,000 children currently occupy the Texas foster care system, including 5,000 children who’ve yet to be adopted by a forever family? Or that while awaiting adoption, many of those 5,000 children find themselves sleeping in state buildings?
What is the purpose and goal of Foster and Hutton?
"To raise awareness within the general public and faith-based organizations regarding the number of children caught up in the Texas Foster Care System and introduce potential foster & adoptive families to organizations and resources that provide foster & adoption education and aid."
The first release of the EP, “Place To Stay,” illustrates the problems these children face every day.
“’Place to Stay’ is about children in our very own communities that need a home,” Hutton said about the song. “It’s a cry, on their behalf, to Texans out there that I know will open their hearts and homes once they understand the magnitude of the problem.”
The Foster EP is set to release on March 31, and will offer four original songs, co-written by Hutton and Foster. Additionally, Pat Green, Wade Bowen, Roger Creager and Cory Morrow team up for a cover of "Amazing Grace." And 100% of the proceeds go directly to raise awareness for children in the Texas Foster Care system.
