‘The American Songbook’ – San Angelo Civic Theater

Tonight as a part of the Theater's Summer Sizzler Music Series, San Angelo Civic Theater presents 'The American Songbook'.The Ellen Myer Jazz Trio with Kevin Brown and Jimmy Shanks will perform 'The American Songbook' also known as 'American Standards'.

This is a collection of the most important and influential American popular songs and jazz standards from the early 20th century. It will showcase tunes from the 1920s through the 1950s that were created for Broadway theatre, Musical theatre, and Hollywood musical film.

These songs have been recorded and performed by numerous singers, instrumental bands, and jazz musicians, and now you have a chance to enjoy it tonight at Angelo Civic Theatre starting at 6:40 pm.
