San Angelo – Help Save Lives While Earning Extra Money!
I visited with Biomat Plasma Center today and discovered that you can make some serious money just by becoming a donor with them!
Biomat is located at 2575 Sunset Drive in San Angelo, right next to what used to be Modnight Rodeo.
Biomat is a global health-care company with a great track record of more than 100 years and a recognized leader in the development and production of plasma-derived medicines with a network of more than 280 centers.
A lot of people don't really understand what plasma is. It's a portion of the blood that is used as the starting material to make life-saving medicines that treat rare and chronic conditions. Plasma contains many proteins and antibodies that help our bodies function. For many patients there are no alternative treatments. They depend on plasma medicines.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic collections of plasma have really been impacted because of stay-at-home orders and social-distancing measures so plasma donors are needed now more than ever to make these medicines.
Plasma donation is a painless procedure that thousands of people do each day. Plasma donation is a bit different than whole blood donation. They use a specialized medical device that separates the donor’s plasma from their blood through a safe, sterile, automated process, called plasmapheresis. The plasma is collected while the red blood cells are returned to the donor.
Because our bodies replenish plasma quickly, donors can give plasma up to two twice in a seven-day period and they need lots of donations. It takes anywhere from 130 to 1300 donations to make enough medicine to treat just one patient for one year.
There are a few restrictions involved to become a donor. To donate plasma, a donor must weigh more than 110 pounds and be between the ages of 18 and 69. You also must have a valid proof of ID, proof of social security number, and proof of permanent address.
Biomat takes many precautions to keep donors and employees safe. They have implemented protocols as recommended by the (CDC)including: Physical distancing, plexiglass barriers, wearing face-covings, taking temperatures at the door among other precautions.
I'll say it again...you can make some good extra money by donating plasma. Because it takes more time and requires a commitment from the plasma donors, they do offer substantial donor fees to say thank you.
I was very impressed with everything I saw and the staff that I met! I would certainly recommend that you visit with them as well and become a hero who is helping to save lives while earning some extra money at the same time!!
