Just before midnight on July 30, 2016, Officers were dispatched to the Creekside Apartments, 3018 Knickerbocker Road, for a domestic disturbance with information that the suspect was last seen wearing a mask and armed with a firearm.

Officers arrived and attempted to locate the suspect, identified as John Gill, in one of the apartments.  While attempting to call out to Gill through the apartment’s open door, Officers observed a masked man carrying a rifle, approaching their location from a nearby trail.

Gill, who initially ignored commands to drop his rifle, complied and Gill was taken into custody without incident.  In addition to the rifle, Gill had two loaded magazines and a box of ammunition in his pockets.

During the field investigation, Officers learned Gill pointed a loaded weapon at his spouse prior to their arrival.  The woman escaped the apartment without harm.

Gill was charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and transported to the Tom Green County Jail.
