San Angelo Police Investigate Apparent Accidental Drowning
Detectives with the San Angelo Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division are investigating the apparent accidental drowning of a local 12-year-old girl Thursday evening.
On March 30, 2017, at approximately 8:04 p.m., San Angelo Police and Fire Department personnel were dispatched to a residence in the 1600 block of Upton Street for the report of an unconscious person.
At approximately 8:07 p.m., the first responding Patrol Officer arrived and located the victim unconscious on the ground next to an above-ground swimming pool, surrounded by family members. The Officer performed CPR until Medics arrived.
The victim was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital where she was later pronounced deceased by Justice of the Peace Judge J.P. McGuire. An autopsy was requested.
