San Angelo Weekly Events and Activities 10/21 – 10/27/19

Reckless Kelly is playing the San Angelo Performing Arts Center on Thurs, Oct 24th  at  7:30 pm. Don't miss one of the best Texas/Red Dirt bands on the scene touring nationwide on a constant basis. The San Angelo Fire Department and the San Angelo Fire Firefighters Association will be offering safe trick or treating on Halloween evening at all eight fire stations during the annual Truck or Treat event.  Families are invited to visit the fire stations from 6-8 pm on Thurs, Oct 31st to receive free candy and explore a fire truck up close. Visitors are reminded to please not park in front of the fire trucks and ambulances at the stations, as firefighters and paramedics must still respond to calls.

Everyone is invited to Fright Fest at the San Angelo Nature Center Sat, Oct 26th from 6-8 pm. Enjoy Games, crafts, candy, door prizes, and a parade of animals! You're invited to take the Fort Concho After Dark Tour for a spine-tingling night tour of Fort Concho on Fri, Oct 25th from 8 - 10 pm. Visit several of the fort’s buildings and listen to their guides recount the stories of people who lived and died at the site. Tickets for the walking tour are available but space is limited. Be sure to get out and support your ASU Rams as they host Texas – Permian Basin Saturday, October 26th at 4 pm.

Trinity Lutheran will host a Trunk or Treat Party for the entire community on Thurs, Oct 31st from 5:30-8 pm. Everyone is invited. In addition to Trunks in the parking lot, they will have a host of activities indoors for children, youth, and adults! There will also be free food, cotton candy, popcorn, games and prizes! The 2019 Cinch Roping Fiesta Invitational Calf Roping will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 26 at the San Angelo Fairgrounds Outdoor Roping Arena. Watch the world's greatest compete for big prize money! Then be sure to come back for the Invitational Steer Roping being held on Sunday, October 27 at 12 Noon. In conjunction with the Steer Roping, there will also be a Double Mugging event. The 'Cowboy Christmas Gift Show' is Sat & Sun, Oct 26th & 27th from 10:00 am - 6:30 pm in conjunction with the Cinch Roping Fiesta at the San Angelo Fairgrounds. The Cowboy Christmas Gift Show is full of a wide array of vendors located in the Coliseum and the Cattle Barn. Enjoy an afternoon of art making at the San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts every Thursday from 3-6 pm in the Education Studio. They always feature fun with clay and watercolors, and every three weeks there are two new art projects to try. Admission is free and visitors are welcome to drop in anytime between 3 and 6.

The Concho Valley Farmers Market’s thrice-weekly produce sales begin at 7 am each Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday under the pavilion at 609 S. Oakes St. across from Fort Concho. The vendors, who come from a 75-mile radius around San Angelo, sell locally grown seasonal fruits, vegetables and plants. For more information, call 245-3338.
