Back to School time is just around the corner and we want to help the teachers of SAISD kick off the school year. While our local teachers receive supplies from their campuses, we’d like to show them how much we appreciate them by helping out with some of the special supplies that they can use to enhance the learning experience even more. Broadway Legends Workshop being held Aug 8th-10th is a cooperative effort between the San Angelo Broadway Academy and other working musical theatre professionals to provide masterclass training to youth focused on musical theatre skills. If your dog needs to go to school, take advantage of Dog Training Classes beginning Wed, Aug 7th. Basic dog obedience training is for dogs four months and older. The 6 session training is an AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) training program. Basic commands are taught and at the end, a 10-skill test is given. Its a 'Celebration Of Music' talent contest Sun, Aug 11th at 7 pm in the San Angelo Performing Arts Center. Local Contestants at this event are vying for a chance to be on a national television show called Celebration of Music filming in Los Angeles, CA. You'll see bands, soloists, duets, choirs, instrumentalists and dancers with contestants age 4-25. The 46th Annual Sutton County Days & Sonora Outlaw Rodeo is being held this Fri &Sat, Aug 9th & 10th. Enjoy an afternoon of art making at the San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts every Thursday from 3-6 pm in the Education Studio. They always feature fun with clay and watercolors, and every three weeks there are two new art projects to try. Admission is free and visitors are welcome to drop in anytime between 3 and 6.

The Concho Valley Farmers Market’s thrice-weekly produce sales begin at 7 am each Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday under the pavilion at 609 S. Oakes St. across from Fort Concho.
