TO KICK OFF BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH, ‘BREAKFAST FOR A CURE’ IS THIS FRI, OCT 4TH FROM 7:00 – 9:30 AM AT SCHNEIDER DISTRIBUTING LOCATED AT 1 SOUTH ABE BESIDE THE POST OFFICE. THEY WILL BE SERVING EGGS, SAUSAGE, BACON, POTATOES, GRILLED JALAPENOS & ONIONS, CHEESE & SALSA IN ANY BURRITO COMBINATION FOR DONATIONS. The 36th annual 'National Night Out is this Tuesday, October 1st from 4:30-8:00 pm as neighborhoods throughout San Angelo are being invited to join forces with thousands of communities across the nation for this crime and drug prevention event. Residents in neighborhoods throughout San Angelo and across the nation are asked to turn on outside lights and spend the evening outside with neighbors, police, and other first responders. The 12th Annual 'Shannon Pink Ribbon Run' is Sat, Oct 5th from 7-10 am at Shannon Medical Center. Be a part of the largest run in San Angelo with more than 1,000 participants. Help support the fight against breast cancer! Visit ShannonHealth.com/pinkribbonrun for more information!

Bring your family pets to Tractor Supply at 2701 Southwest Blvd this Fri & Sat, Oct 4th & 5th for their Fall microchip clinic from 10 am - 4 pm both days. Microchips are just $13.00 and custom tags are $5.00.

The Chicken Farm Art Center presents another 'Concert in the Yard' this Fri, Oct 4th from 6-9 pm with a wide variety of live music including current and classic songs in numerous genres including Pop, Rock, Folk, Americana, and Blues, with amazing harmonies performed by talented local musicians! Admission is free and you can bring your own picnic basket, refreshments and lawn chairs. Resident Artist Shops will also be open and Artist Booths set up for the event.

Come on out to the Sutton County Park in Sonora, Saturday October 5th for the 8th Annual Dry Devils River Music Flood! Gates open at 9 am with a cook-off , vendors and 5K fun run. Bring the Whole Family out to Kirby Park the first weekend of October for the annual West Texas Shootout Roller Hockey Invitational Tournament presented by J&T’s Welding LLC. Hockey Clubs from across the state of Texas will be here for live hockey action all day Saturday and Sunday, Oct 5th & 6th ending with the Championship Match Sunday at 1pm. This is a FREE event with fast paced hockey action that will please sports fans of all ages. There will be a raffle for great prizes! Miles United Methodist Church is having their Sausage Fest this Sun, Oct 6th from 11 am - 1:30 pm at the Miles Young Farmer’s Complex. Enjoy Sklenarik’s Smoked Sausage, German Potatoes and Sauerkraut, Coleslaw, Green Beans, Rolls, Dessert and Tea for just $10 per plate. There will also be a Silent Auction and Raffle. The 1st Saturday of every month The Chicken Farm Art Center hosts a monthly celebration of art, music and community from 10 am - 5 pm! Join the fun Saturday, Oct 5th and find artist & vendors with great works and gifts, a live music circle hosted by The Chicken Pickers, great food, clay and painting for the kids and more. Enjoy an afternoon of art making at the San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts every Thursday from 3-6 pm in the Education Studio. They always feature fun with clay and watercolors, and every three weeks there are two new art projects to try. Admission is free and visitors are welcome to drop in anytime between 3 and 6.

The Concho Valley Farmers Market’s thrice-weekly produce sales begin at 7 am each Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday under the pavilion at 609 S. Oakes St. across from Fort Concho.
