This weekend brings you a lot of events and activities like the always popular Drag Boat Races, a Team Roping, a Cookoff, A big dance on a ranch, Downtown Movie, Farmers Market and a lot more......

The 10th Annual Showdown In San Angelo Drag Boat Races 2016 are this weekend from Friday through Sunday. Come see one of the fastest shows on water. This venue is one of the most popular of the Lucas Oil Drag Boat Series and has been seen by many of the regular boat racers and spectators as the BEST on the circuit. Boats will line up side by side and run a liquid quarter mile at speeds of up to and sometimes exceeding 250 miles per hour in less than 4 seconds. Walk the pits and see the boats up close. Talk to the drivers and crew and see them working on the boats. Buy t-shirts, photos, cards or posters, food booths and a lot more. Stop by and say hi as Kickin' Country 103.1 will be broadcasting live throughout the event.

The West Texas Boys Ranch Team Roping & Cookoff will be at the Lee Ranch this weekend. Friday, June 24th features a goat roping, Saturday features team roping, a barbeque cookoff, and a dance with Clearwater. The Concho Valley Master Gardeners present a Water Conservation Seminar this Saturday, June 25th from 9 til Noon at the 4-H Building on Highway 67. Dr. Dotty Woodson will show you how to make every drop count with rain water harvesting, plant selection, irrigation efficiency, and more. Admission is free but you need to register by calling 659-6522.

This Friday, June 24th Downtown Movie Night features 'Tomorrow Land', at sundown in the parking lot across from the Cactus Hotel. Admission is free. Bring your lawn chairs or blanket. The Concho Valley Farmers Market is taking place every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday from 7 am until they fun out (typically by noon). Vendors, come from a 75-mile radius around San Angelo offering locally grown and seasonal fruits, vegetables and plants. The farmers market is held under the pavilion at 609 S. Oakes St. across from Fort Concho.

The Summer Kids World program at Sunset Mall is free and underway. Activities are being held every Tuesday from 2 - 3 p.m. through August 9th inside the Community Room located next to Sears. For more information go to sunsetmall.com or call 949-1947.

This Sunday, June 26th, enjoy the 11th Annual Music in the Park at Santa Rita Park from 7 pm - 9 pm. There will be Bands, Books, Hot Dogs and Jimmie Rose and The All-Stars performing live. 'Music In The Park' is sponsored by the Adult Literacy Council of The Concho Valley.
