Just a few more days and it will be Christmas in the Concho Valley! There are still plenty of holiday happenings you'll find this week that we have listed for you to enjoy!

The Concho Christmas Tour of Lights is now underway and continues through December 31st. Pack everyone in the car and drive the 2.5 miles along the banks of the Concho River through the “Tour of Lights.” Enjoy over 3 million lights in a number of Holiday displays. The Tour begins at 1st Street & Abe (just north of the Post Office). A donation of $5 per vehicle may be made at start of tour.

Christmas at the Santa Fe Depot is open from 6-9 every Friday and Saturday evening through December 30th, except for Christmas Day. Santa will be at the Depot during the shows so Children of all ages can talk to him, his helpers and get their pictures taken. The show features a special Christmas story for children at 7 PM. Also a Christmas Craft room will be open so children can make special Christmas decorations and gifts. Call 486-2140 for more information.

Each year, the First Christian Church of San Angelo presents a living nativity scene, complete with live animals, located at the end of the Tour of Lights at the south end of the Farmer’s Market Pavilion on Oakes Street. Remaining dates to enjoy this year’s live nativity scene are December 16 – 22, from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m. each night. For more information, call the First Christian Church at 653-4523.

Sonrisas Trails is offering free horseback and carriage rides on Christmas Day at the 1st Community Credit Union Spur arena from 2:30-5 pm. There's also a petting zoo and lots of photo opportunities. Donations are appreciated and you can also volunteer to help with this event. Get more information by calling 949-4837 or go to sonrisasriding.org.

The San Angelo Elks Lodge is hosting the Home Away from Home event for men and women stationed at Goodfellow who can't be at home with their families on Christmas Day. Donations of gift cards, small new items or cash to purchase items are being accepted now. To donate, call Chris Stansbury at 374-4443 or call the lodge at 227-6920 and leave a message.

Enjoy a Lighted Evening at the Chicken Farm Art Center Tuesday, December 20th from 6 -9 pm. The entire Art Center will be lit up with Christmas lights so enjoy a slow stroll around the grounds. There will be live music by local musicians and free snacks and refreshments in the studios. Many artists will be offering discounts or sales on select pieces or services. There will even be drawings for great prizes! The Chicken Farm Art Center is located at 2505 MLK Blvd.
