Showdown In San Angelo 2014 Was Awesome Again

The Lucas Oil Drag Boat Series brought the best in Super National Drag Boat Racing in the Country to Lake Nasworthy all weekend long. 

This was our 8th annual Showdown and it was bigger, faster, and better than ever. Many of the racers and spectators consider ours to be the best venue on the circuit, and love coming year after year.

The Top Fuel Hydros are the fastest class of racing boats, reaching speeds of 250 + MPH. It's obvious when these big boys run. Everybody stands up for a closer look, and  the ground shakes when their 8,000 hp engines thunder down the liquid quarter mile in under 4 seconds! It's an incredible sight, and expensive! It cost a Top Fuel Hydro about nine thousand dollars to make one pass. Between the fuel, parts, tearing down between each run, etc......Yes, they have just raced through $9,000 in under 4 seconds.

There were numerous classes of racing to be enjoyed including Top Fuel Hydros, the fastest, followed by top alcohol hydro, top alcohol flatbottom, pro modified, and numerous other classes as well.

It was a great time for all ages and I am already looking forward to next year's Showdown In San Angelo!
