The City’s Animal Shelter has, upon the advice of the state’s regional zoonosis official, halted the intake and adoption of dogs as its population is monitored for signs of distemper.

Early voting in the May 6 San Angelo City Council and mayoral election begins Monday, April 24, and continues through May 2.

The City of San Angelo is seeking volunteers to paint the homes of elderly, low-income citizens in the Rio Vista area during the annual Neighborhood Blitz on Saturday, April 29. The effort, sponsored by the City, Habitat for Humanity and A Brush with Kindness, will repaint 26 homes as part of the City’s neighborhood revitalization program.

The vacancy in the San Angelo City Council’s District 1 seat will be filled during a special election May 6 to be held at the same time as a previously scheduled election to fill four other seats.
