I've known Cody Canada, in a professional capacity, for around three years. But I've been a fan of his for more than 10 years longer than that. I actually purchased Ragweed's Soul Gravy, in Baghdad, back in 2004.
His new, self-titled album was out last Tuesday. It peaked inside the Top 5 on iTunes, no small task for an independent artist. Last week Wade Bowen called into Radio Texas, LIVE! to debut four tracks off his new project, exclusively for our listeners.
From his home in New Braunfels, TX, Cody Canada and his dog, Marvin, took to social media, today, to thank fans for their continued support. He also says to keep comin' out to shows, and to expect a new Departed album very soon.
I haven't done a music video post in a while so it feels long overdue. You've heard the song Prayer For The Lonely by The Departed and now they have a video, check it out.
One of my all time favorite Cross Canadian AND Scott Copeland tunes would be Lighthouse Keeper. Some know who wrote it, others thing Cody Canada wrote it.
With their second and most anticipated album out The Departed have been tearing up the Texas/Red Dirt music scene. They have now released a music video for their current single, Worth The Fight.
We've been anticipating it for months now and it's finally here. Cody Canada, Jason Boland and Chris Knight will be rockin' out the Blaine's stage this Saturday night.
