Slightly Off-Kilter Teen Tries to Burn Down 43-Year-Old Boyfriend’s House
Well, here's the case against dating a younger woman.
An 18-year-old woman in Britain has received a two-year suspended sentence for setting a fire in her 43-year-old boyfriend's house following an argument about their sex life. To be fair, she was 17 at the time and we all know that once you turn 18, you stop doing immature things, so no need to explain to her that what she was stupid.
Sophie Stonehewer is the young lady who went a little off the rails by sending a curtain up in flames shortly before 4 a.m. one morning back in February. Boyfriend Steven Beddows quickly got up and put out the fire.
The couple is still together, which is amazing because any sort of arson should be a grounds for breaking up. Maybe they do things differently on the other side of the pond.
"There was an argument between them it involved alcohol and sexual activity," Stonehewer's lawyer said. "She is a young teenager who craves adult attention and support."
Gee, ya think?
"‘The defendant was in hysterics and she was deeply upset and deeply fearful of Mr. Beddows reaction of what she had done," the lawyer added. "She accepts what she had done and then she became more hysterical when she was arrested and taken to the police station."
On the positive side, the couple can go out and buy new curtains, which is a much more couple-type activity than heading to court. So, good for them. Hopefully, she won't melt down when they disagree on what color to buy.
