Whataburger Turns 68 Today!
It's hard to believe that 68 years ago today (August 8th, 2018), Whataburger was founded.
The chain was founded in 1950 by Harmon Dobson and he had a simple idea:
From Whataburger.com:
...to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn't help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand, located on Ayers Street in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.”
So 68 years, and countless 24 hour days later, Whataburger is still serving up some of the best burgers in Texas and beyond.
Today, they are 800 locations strong -- from Arizona to Florida. And let's hope they keep going, because I really need a Monterey Melt right now!
