You could be a Storm Spotter for the National Weather Service
Ken Grimm, Tom Green County Ares Emergency Coordinator and David Behrend, President of San Angelo's Amateur Radio Club stopped by the 'Kickin' Wake-Up Call' this morning to talk about storm spotter training...
They stressed the need for trained storm spotters and the opportunity coming up this weekend to get the necessary training to be an official spotter for the National Weather Service.
Although you do not have to be a Ham Radio Operator to be a weather spotter, David explained how ham radio operators play a vital roll in storm spotting as well and that license classes are coming up next weekend.
They gave us contact information for both classes and encouraged everyone with an interest to find out more.
