Guardians of the Galaxy won a lackluster weekend at the box office.The Marvel film earned an estimated 17.6 million dollars, about a million more than last week's box office champ, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. To date, Guardians of the Galaxy has made 252 million domestically since opening early this month, when it went number one with 94 million. 

The weekend's new releases failed to impress. The drama If I Stay opened in third place, collecting 16.4 million dollars. The high school football drama When the Game Stands Tall bowed in the fifth spot, with 9.1 million, and the sequel Sin City: A Dame to Kill For debuted in eight place, with just 6.5 million.

Here are the top 10 movies from Friday through Sunday, with estimated ticket sales, according to Rentrak:
