Pat Green

Pat Green released 'While I Was Away' on May 18th, and it is a tearjerker. It is a tribute to all of the parents and people who are away from their loved ones and families because of their jobs. It tells of the struggles that parents deal with when separated from their children while on the job, all the moments missed...

This is one of those lists that I love to read, but am way too scared to ever write. It's so objective. What you like I might hate, and vice versa.

Throughout the history of "Texas Music" there have been certain artists that stepped forward as... "leaders" per-say. These leaders made headway for the rest of our favorite artists. In the beginning, we had Pat Green, Cory Morrow and Roger Creager step up, followed by Randy Rogers, Wade Bowen etc etc etc.

Pat Green has had another huge, with Lyle Lovett joining him to record his latest single "Girls From Texas". They have been in the top 3 on the Texas Charts for three weeks now, and has jumped to No.1. This tells me that listeners agree with Pat and Lyle sing "Girls from Texas are just a little bit better"...

We just got word that Pat Green had three of his prized guitars stolen while playing near the Texas Christian campus area last night in Fort Worth. Keep an eye out if you happen to be in a Fort Worth pawn shop. You may happen to run across one or all of them...

Stoney La Rue managed to knock Josh Abbott band from their No. 1 spot to No. 3 -- wonder how long Stoney LaRue can hold on to that top spot. This week Wade Bowen looks to hang onto the top spot for a third consecutive week, but to do it he'll have to hold off Josh Abbott Band, Pat Green and Stoney LaRue. Can one of them beat out Wade, or will When I Woke Up Today hang on to the top spot again? Let’s find out.

With Pat Green's newest song playing every where, standing No. 2 at the charts right now,  we wanted to do a little bit Thursday Today, all the way back to the early 2000's (dang we feel old!).
