Album of the Year Grammy Nominee Sturgill Simpson to Play SNL

It's been a big year in 2016 for Sturgill Simpson and he'll kick off 2017 in a big way as well.

A couple days ago it was announced that Simpson will play the first Saturday Night Live in 2017. Simpson's appearance will happen on January 14th and will include host actress Felicity Jones.

Simpson's album A Sailor's Guide to Earth is nominated for Album of the Year and Best Country Album at the upcoming 59th Grammy Awards in February. Released in April, the album topped the US Country, Rock and Folk album charts.
