Animal Shelter Makes Changes Due to COVID-19
Like numerous other businesses and services that have had to make changes because of COVID-19 and safety measures, San Angelo’s Animal Shelter is also making temporarily changes to their operation of services due to COVID-19.
Due to quarantining protocols and procedures with the Animal Shelter, operations at the shelter will temporarily change beginning today (Monday, Jan. 11).
The temporary changes set in place as of today, are as follows:
The shelter will no longer be taking in cats during this time (except sick, injured, neonatal)
They are only accepting dogs between the hours of 1 p.m. and 6 p.m.
Field services are only responding to emergency calls which include:
Bite investigations
Cruelty investigations
Aggressive dog at large
Estray livestock
The shelter says that they will notify the public once operations at the Animal Shelter return to normal.
The staff at San Angelo's Animal Shelter is very animal care oriented. They have a wonderful team that is dedicated to taking good care of lost or dumped furry friends. They are compassionate and committed to finding great homes for pets in need and I'm sure that having to make these adjustments because of COVID-19 is a very difficult thing for them to have to comply with.
Once they return to normal operations, think about visiting them. They may have the perfect furry companion for you. Also remember that the Animal Shelter always needs bedding and food. If you CAN'T adopt, you can always GIFT. All contributions are welcomed and needed.
The San Angelo Animal Shelter is located at 3142 US-67, San Angelo.
