Genevieve Pfluger Mejia, M.D. is an obstetrician and gynecologist at San Angelo Community Medical Center, and also serves as the Medical Director for the Laura Bush Institute of Women’s Health. This program provides free mammograms for the under-insured and uninsured. In this video, Dr. Mejia explains that the American Cancer Society recommend that women over the age of 40 should receive an annual mammogram. Even if you are feeling healthy, and might not see the need for one, you should still do it -- many cases of early detection have resulted from keeping up with your annual visits.
