George Strait Celebrates Birthday With big Announcement

Yesterday, May 18th George Strait celebrated his 69th birthday and made a big announcement that his fans are going to love!

Strait announced that he is playing Rodeo Houston in 2022. His performance will be on March 20th.

In a press release from the rodeo association yesterday, it was announced that the 21-day event will include an extra day and a concert-only performance by George Strait. Look for George Strait to put on a full-length evening concert in NRG Stadium. This will be his 31st time performing at the Houston Rodeo, With the first coming nearly 40 years ago.

Rodeo president and CEO Chris Boleman stated... “What better way to celebrate the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo’s 90th anniversary than with a special, concert-only performance by the ‘King of Country’ music himself. After a couple of particularly challenging years, our thousands of dedicated volunteers simply can’t wait to welcome everyone back to the Rodeo grounds for a Texas-sized celebration of Western heritage that will be well worth the wait.”

As CEO Chris Boleman stated, the past two years have not worked out for the Houston Livestock and Rodeo with cancelations. Their 2020 season was cut short, and their 2021 season was completely cancelled so you know that rodeo fans will be ready for rodeo action in 2022. With the announcement that George Strait will be putting on a full concert as an added feature of the 2022 Rodeo, it's sure to be a very welcome addition to look forward to with Houston's rodeo season!
