I admit it.  I don't like self-checkouts.  Like or not though, self service is the wave of the future.  More and more transactions occur worldwide through human to robot interactions.  With that in mind, a New Jersey company has now developed a hamburger vending machine.

Robo Burger is about 12 feet in size and it takes inputs through a touch screen that says "Hello Human"

The machine fabricates, totally without human intervention, burgers that come topped with cheese, ketchup and mustard.  They take about six minutes to make and cost $6.99.

While that might seem a little pricey for a burger, with the way wages are going, it's just a matter of time before 6.99 for a burger is commonplace.  It already is in some places. So, burger vending machines may soon be just another reality.

It might be perfect for San Angelo State students who want a quick snack and can't find an open drive thru lane in the middle of the night

The Robot Burger machine even is self-cleaning.  In fact, the manufacturer claims the machine cleans itself so well, it exceeds government standards.

It seems so many modern horror films start the the premise of robots battling humans for world domination.  We all remember Arnold Swartzenegger's famous line "I'll be back".  Even Elon Musk says, that someday we may have to watch out or robots will take over the human race.  I would like to think that if robots do rise up at least they will rise up and serve us a good burger.  Although, you might want to be very careful how you handle it, if they happen to get your order wrong.
