April First Is San Angelo Rodeo Parade Day
You can tell a few April Fool's jokes along the parade route, but the San Angelo Rodeo Parade is certainly not fooling around this year. The parade is on Saturday, April 1, 2023, on April Fool's Day.
The only April Fools in San Angelo would be anyone missing this spectacular kickoff to the rodeo season. This year the parade kicks off at 10:00 am. The signup deadline is March 24th, so if you want to be in the parade you better hurry. The forms are here.
This year ADA Accessible parking is available thanks to San Angelo Advocacy for Access. Handicapped parking will be available on a first-come, first-served basis at the M.L. Leddy's parking lot at 222 S. Oakes Street. Handicapped plates will be required for parking.
The route of the parade this year begins at Irving and Concho Street, proceeding East to Oakes, left on Oakes to Twohig, turns left on Twohig, proceeds to Chadbourne, then right on Chadbourne, to College Street then left on College, continues to Irving, then left on Irving to Beauregard, right on Beauregard to Randolph, left on Randolph then to River Drive and dismissed.
This year's parade promised to be huge, with many incredible floats, antique cars, marching bands, floats, riding clubs, antique tractors, and Old West wagons.
It is too early to predict the weather for the rodeo parade Long-time parade goers have encountered everything Texas spring weather can throw. Let's hope for incredible weather for this year's incredible festivities.
