After paying their dues for over 15 years of recording and burning up the road constantly, Mike And The Moonpies have been invited to play the Grand Ole Opry!

This Austin based band came together in 2007 and I think it's long overdue that they are finally going to make their Grand Ole Opry debut with a live show on September 6th and tickets to be there and enjoy the show are on sale now.

Mike And The Moonpies call their music a combination of neotraditional country Texas/Red Dirt and Americana. That blend works extremely well for them as they sell out venues all across the nation and abroad.

Their latest album out is called "One To Grow On" and we are playing the single releases "Hour On The Hour" and "Paycheck To Paycheck" from that album, and they may decide to release more singles from it! For that matter we play almost fifteen Mike And The Moonpies songs from their eight albums on Kickin' Country 103-1 including songs like "Smooth Shot Of Whiskey", "Beaches Of Biloxi", "You Look Good In Neon", "Steak Night At The Prarie Rose", their awesome cover of the song "Don't It Make You Wanna Dance" and more of their hit singles, which they have had quite a number of.

They have a very extensive touring schedule underway. Just some of the places their tour is taking them includes: Gruene Hall, Billy Bob's,  Abilene, Lubbock, and numerous other Texas dates before heading out of state for the next leg of the tour that takes them up to Chicago and all the way to California. Then they will embark on the next leg of the tour which takes them abroad to: Spain, United Kingdom, Netherlands, Germany, Sweden, Norway and eventually back to Texas.

Of course they will be making that stop in Nashville on September 6th to make their debut on the Grand Ole Opry!!
