There are a lot of things to enjoy in and around the Concho Valley this week. You'll find great music, an astronomy show, another downtown movie night, an anti-bully run, and The Miles Cotton Fest is also this weekend.

Every 2nd Thursday of each month - as in today, the Chicken Farm Art Center hosts a free evening concert in the yard. Bring a lawn chair and a cooler, find a nice shady spot and listen to some fantastic music. The Chicken Farm is located at 2505 Martin Luther King. FMI call 325-653-4936.

Every Thursday at 7 pm thru Nov. 19th (No show Oct. 15th.) the ASU Planetarium presents the full-dome astronomy show “Secet Lives of Stars”. The specific characteristics of a star will determine what type of life it will lead and how long it might live. Audiences will witness the amazing variety of stars and peer into their secret lives. The newly renovated ASU Planetarium now contains the distinctive combination of a Sci-Dome HD digital projector and large tilted dome theater.

This Friday, Sept. 11th get the family together and enjoy another Downtown Movie Night featuring 'McFarland USA' in the parking lot across from the Cactus Hotel at 9 pm. Concessions are available at reasonable prices and you're invited to bring your lawn chairs and join in on a free, fun, downtown movie night.

It's the 38th annual Miles Cotton Fest this Saturday, Sept 12th with fun for the entire family. enjoy barbeque and salsa contest, a parade, helicopter rides, games for all ages, tons of food, arts and crafts and just a great day of having fun. The 3rd annual Super Hero Anti-Bully Run is being held Saturday evening at Kid's Kingdom Park. Enjoy a 5k or 1 mile fun run. This is even going to be a 'Glow Run' with registration beginning at 6:30 pm. All proceeds benefit the Police Department's DREAM Program and you can enter by going to getmeregistered.com.
