The San Angelo Civic Ballet Presents their 'Behind the Music Series'
March 2nd for ages 8-12. Join the composer of the original score for Seven Princesses... and a Bear, Scott Gendel, as he takes you on a behind-the-scenes journey into his process of creating music for this original story. Catch the performances of "Seven Princesses... and a Bear" March 4 - 5th at Paul Ann Baptist Church Auditorium. The next Green Thumb Gardener Mini Seminar is this Saturday, March 5th beginning at 9 am. It will feature information on rain water collection systems. Master gardener Ron Knight will talk about rainwater collection, drought tolerant plants, and more. To make your reservation, call 656- 3104.

March 5th will be the 1st Saturday of the month which always brings you plenty of fun and activities at the Chicken Farm Art Center. It's a monthly celebration of art, music and community from 10 am til 5 pm. You'll find artist and\ vendors with handmade works and gifts, a live music circle hosted by the Chicken Pickers, great food, and free clay art experiments for kids to participate in. The San Angelo Elks Lodge is having their next big Garage Sale this Saturday, March 5th from 8 am til Noon at 2121 South Chadbourne. If you would like to donate items, call the lodge at 227-6920. Proceeds benefit youth & Military Veteran's programs.

The Texas Independence Day Celebration & Cookoff is being held at the Paseo this Saturday, March 5th. There's a barbeque cookoff, car show, live music, handmade arts & crafts, bounce house, face painting, and a lot more. Call Judy at 949-6200 for more information.

The San Angelo Junior League presents 'Healthy Hearts & Early Starts' for kids this Thursday, March 3rd at the Northside Boys & Girls Club. Kids will enjoy making snacks, fun prizes, and more while they learn about a healthy and active lifestyle. Admission is free for kindergarten through 5th grade students from 3:30 - 5:30 pm and 6th - 8th grade students from 4:30 - 6:00 pm. Get more information at sajuniorleague.com.

The Menard Girls Organization presents Aaron Kothmann in concert at the American Legion on Friday, March 4th from 8 until Midnight. Tickets are $10 at the door and extra donations are appreciated. There will also be a silent auction.

The Goliad Elementary Celebrity Basketball Game, featuring ex Harlem Globetrotter Melvin Adams, will be this Saturday, March 5th at the Junell Center. Tickets are $10 per person and available at the door. All proceeds will go towards a new gym floor at Goliad.
