San Angelo’s YMCA Launches Fundraising Campaign
The YMCA's ongoing mission is to do all they can to assist Tom Green County residents in having access to resources and vital programs in our community that support youth development, healthy living, social responsibility and more.
This year the San Angelo YMCA has set a goal of raising one hundred thousand dollars to support the Y’s Scholarship Fund.
Angel Flores, CEO, of the San Angelo YMCA said...“Throughout San Angelo countless people know and depend on the Y, but we’re so much more than many people realize. In addition to being the place children learn to swim or adults go for their daily workout, we’re also constantly responding to the needs of our community. We’re dedicated to nurturing the potential of every child and teen, improving the nation’s health and well-being, and giving back and providing support to our neighbors- all to create a better us.”
They count on YMCA donors to help them with charitable gifts annually to accomplish their goals. Last year with the help of donors contributions, The San Angelo YMCA was able to operate an Emergency Childcare Camp for the Essential Workers who were called upon due to our nationwide Shut-Down.
This camp was awesome in that it not only gave over 300 children a place to stay in safety, but also be able to interact with other children and feel some sense of normalcy as their parents and family members were out working to help in fighting the pandemic.
