Don't mess with Texas firefighters. A man who tried to rob a convenience store in Midlothian, Texas learned that lesson the hard way.

Surveillance video from the store captured the whole incident which shows the knife-wielding suspect brushing past the firefighter.  According to a report, the off duty firefighter named Daniel Gaskey, who is also a former Marine, assessed the situation and then sprang into action.  Within 7 seconds, he took down the suspect and had things under control until law enforcement arrived.

Gaskey was actually on his way to work and was worried about running late to the fire station after the incident.  Gaskey told a reporter that he said a prayer for the 19 year old suspect.
