Guardians of the Galaxy held on to the number two position

The new comedy Let's Be Cops opened in third place, collecting 17.7 million dollars. The film hit theaters last Wednesday.

Right behind it was Stallone's sequel The Expendables 3, which pulled in 16.2 million. It features a bevy of popular action stars, including Arnold Schwarzenegger, Harrison Ford, Mel Gibson and many more.

The Giver, featuring Jeff Bridges and Meryl Streep, premiered in fifth place, with 12.8 million.

Here are the top 10 movies from Friday through Sunday, with estimated ticket sales, according to Rentrak:
