Today, Aug. 25th is the 37th anniversary of The Charlie Daniels Band’s 'The Devil Went Down to Georgia' topping the country music charts. It has got to be one of the most recognizable country songs ever recorded.

The song was a track on the band’s 1979 album, 'Million Mile Reflections'. Without a doubt, it is the band’s biggest hit...staying on the Billboard Hot Country Singles charts for fourteen weeks. It even earned Daniels a Grammy that year for “Best Country Vocal Performance.”

Charlie Daniels continues to tour and record new music, all while doing all that he can to supporting U.S. military members and their families whenever and wherever he can.

Let's celebrate the songs anniversary by making it today's Throwback Thursday song. Check out the above video of The Charlie Daniels Band performing “The Devil Went Down to Georgia” live.
