Willie Nelson’s ‘Band of Brothers’ Album Makes Huge Chart Debut
Willie Nelson is showing everyone that even at 81, he's still utterly capable of making big things happen in country music -- like notching No. 1 albums. The legend's new record, 'Band of Brothers,' just debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Country chart.
Not only did the album come out on top in country, but it also entered the Billboard 200 Best-Selling Albums chart at No. 5. This marks Nelson's highest debut and position on the chart since 1982, when his hit record 'Always on My Mind' notched at No. 1 for four weeks.
'Band of Brothers' is a double big win for Nelson -- he hasn't had a No. 1 country album on the Billboard Country chart since 1986, when 'The Promiseland' nabbed the top spot.
The new 14-track record holds nine songs co-written by Nelson and one cover of Vince Gill's 'Whenever You Come Around'. Also included is Billy Joe Shaver’s ‘The Git Go,’ a collaboration with Jamey Johnson. With introspective songs like 'The Wall' and more upbeat tracks like 'Band of Brothers,' Nelson's new album spans a wide range of emotions, all delivered with the singer's trademark sound.
Congrats to Nelson on his No. 1 record!
