Thanksgiving, as we all know,  isn't always the happy family holiday it's sometimes made out to be. Get a bunch of relatives together, compare and decide on recipes, add in consumption of alcohol, argue about who will clean up the mess, and on and on.  Things can get a little awkward.

Some families break out the fine dining china and dress up, while others eat on paper plates while watching TV.

And, as many retailers now open on Thanksgiving Day, there are some family members who want to go shopping instead of spending quality time (as they say) with family, and that starts yet another argument.

Family traditions die hard and new ideas aren't always welcome.

Try to exercise a little tolerance and perhaps have a little more eggnog....and don't forget to add the rum. It helps!
