Is This Texas Mom Boycotting a Disney Movie Sequel Because of…Satan?
I'll admit, I've never seen Hocus Pocus. I understand that it's a Halloween classic, but I've just never had the desire to see it. Plus, I'm kinda down on anything Disney right now, mostly because they've destroyed Star Wars and it costs like $37,000 for a family of 4 to attend one of their theme parks (churros not included).
But sometimes you have to shake your head and say "what the heckety heck?" when someone clearly goes full on bat guano crazy.
Meet Jamie Gooch. She's...interesting.
According to a report from KWTX-TV in Waco, this Central Texas mom is campaigning against the release of Disney's new movie Hocus Pocus 2 out of fears that kids might turn into Satan-worshipping puppy killers...or something.
In the report, Gooch seems to claim that evil spirits are going to come through the TV and cast spells from your 65-inch Samsung HDTV if you allow your kids to watch the film. Funny, I thought it was just The View that was guilty of that. Who knew?
Gooch also claims that she and her family have not celebrated Halloween in several years, and that she's terrified of exposing her kids to "darkness." According to the story:
“Worst case scenario is you unleash hell on your kids and in your home. The whole movie is based on witches harvesting children for blood sacrifices.”
We tried to link to her actual Facebook post in which she makes these dire warnings, however she's taken her page mostly private and the post is not visible. Maybe witches took it down?
Look, I'm big into family and choosing what's right for you and yours. I'm also a little more sensible and rational. If you don't want to watch the movie, don't get Disney+. I don't have it because it's too expensive and I think the adults who are super Disney fans are even crazier than this person. It's one cult calling out another cult.
Personally, if she doesn't want to show the movie to her kids, that's fine. Trust me, they are probably going wilding the second they turn 18. It'll be like that Breaking Amish show...or worse.
